If it weren't for my spontaneous personality, we wouldn't have taken a chance on this donation hunt from an SCI event! But lucky us, we won the live bidding and excitedly asked ourselves, "what next?!" Serbia was definitely not even an original bucket-list travel destination for us, but we couldn't pass up the experience.
As we arrived in Belgrade, we were greeted by Sasha & Stephan of European Hunting Adventures. Unfortunately, we were NOT greeted with our luggage, of which took four more days to arrive! But Sasha insisted we leave to hunt at 3am (after arriving to our hotel at 10pm) as hunting had not been good. The wheat was extra tall due to all the rain, and the roe deer seemed to be hunkering down.
With little sleep and jet lag, we hunted rainy wheat fields. Funny enough, Caleb even hunted in his Hey Dudes and sweatpants due to the whole luggage issue... but we were successful! Some chasing and off-road stalks landed us both two beautiful roe deer.
An unlikely situation in a very (foreign to us) country. But hey! It was a blast. Lots of great food, company & eye-opening experiences. What more could you want :)
